Abstract

The aim of the study is to develop a Geo-Database for Primary Schools in Kaura LocalGovernment Area, Kaduna State, Nigeria using Remote Sensing and GeographicInformation Systems Technique. 104 UBE primary schools were identified with apopulation of 326137 people across the study area.

All the schools in the study area werepurposively sampled and used in the study. The attribute data were obtained through theadministration of a checklist to the Head-Teachers of the schools.

The coordinates ofeach school were obtained using a hand-held GPS receiver. An administrative map of thestudy area was obtained from the Local Government Area to derive the base map throughdigitizing process.
