Abstract

The study was designed to examine the influence of social media on the academic performance of year one students of educational technology and library science department.

The research used the survey research method while formulating a good structural questionnaire as a source of gathering primary data.

Ten copies of the questionnaire were used and ten were returned and used for analysis. The sample size was determined at ten using random sampling techniques.

The findings revealed that some students who spend much time socializing on the internet perform well, some average and some below average.

The objective of the study is to determine whether social networking really influences the academic performances of year one students of educational technology and library science.
