Abstract

The studying aimed at assessing the reaction of listeners to Kukere Mkpo on Planet Radio 101.1, Uyo, in other to ascertain audience respondents towards the programme, and to determine the degree to which Kukere Mkpo influences its audience.

The survey research method was adopted for the study and the instrument used to elicit responses was questionnaire.

The sample was three hundred and eighty-four (384), although three hundred and fifty-eight (358) copies were retrieved and found useful for the study.

The finding of the study revealed that the respondents benefitted from Kukere Mkpo. It was further revealed that listeners were satisfied with the programme and language was not a barrier in listening to the programme.

Therefore, it was recommended that the programme be extended and the producer of the programme should generate more vital content and information.
