Abstract

This study investigated the Stakeholders’ Perceptions on the management of academic Staff in tertiary institutions in Yobe State. In order to have a solid understanding of the topic, several books and other people’s work on the topic were reviewed.

The target population for the study is comprised of 659 academic staff from six tertiary institutions in yobe state. A total of 234 academic staff were used as representative samples.

The survey study method was adopted for the study. the instrument used in the  study  was developed by the researcher after validation by the researcher’s supervisor.

This was elaborated by Oriahi (2009) when he noted that because of poor motivation due to inadequate remuneration, poor teaching environment as a result of inadequate basic teaching materials, and unmotivated learners in the classroom, among others,

therefore, the teachers have become the obstacles in their profession. As a result of this, teachers no longer teach effectively and the students in turn no longer learn properly.
