The aim of this study is to highlight the contribution of Sokoto Rima River Basin Development Authority to rural development in Sokoto State by identifying the socio-Economic benefits provided towards improving the living standard of the rural dwellers in the authority\u2019s catchment areas.<\/p>\n

The data for the study was collected through questionnaire, observations, as well as official records of Sokoto Rima River Basin Development Authority, textbooks and other published and unpublished material.<\/p>\n

The questionnaire was distributed in eight local government areas involving fifteen villages using stratified sampling and the data collected were analysed using Pearson Chi-square statistical techniques in order to test the relationship between Sokoto Rima River Basin Development Authority activities and increase in agricultural production and improvement in the socio-economic lots of the target population.<\/p>\n
