FUNAAB Courses

The Federal University of Agriculture is a Nigerian university in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The university laid its foundation in 1988.

It is also a non-profit public higher education institution located in the city of Abeokuta Ogun. In addition, there is a branch campus in Cenhurd. 

Furthermore, the institution is one of three agricultural universities in Nigeria, with the others located in Makurdi (Benue State) and Umudike (Abia State).

Interestingly, the National Universities Commission (NUC) of Nigeria has officially certified and/or recognized the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta.

Admission Requirements for FUNAAB Full-Time Degree Program

The Institution has accepted the following general entry standards for both UTME and Direct Entry candidates seeking admission to first-year programmes. Here are the admission requirements.

1. First, candidates who choose the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta as their First Choice institution through the Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) Registration process.

2. Also, a minimum of 180 in the UTME Examination is required of UTME candidates.

3. Candidates must have a minimum of (5) credit passes at GCE O’Level, WASCE, SSCE, NECO, or allowed equivalents in relevant disciplines (including English Language and Mathematics) in not over two sittings.

4. Alos, a Direct Entry candidate must have a minimum of Upper-Credit or equivalent. N/B: FOR DIRECT ENTRY ADMISSION, FUNAAB DOES NOT ACCEPT LOWER CREDIT.

5. Credit in Mathematics is required for all Science-Based Courses for both UTME and Direct Entry candidates.

6. In addition, candidates must pass the mandatory University Post UTME/DE screening exam with a satisfactory score.

7, Interested candidates who did not select the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta as their first choice of institution during the UTME/Direct Entry Registration process but intend to study there should do so via the JAMB website.

8. Finally, the candidate must be at least 16 years old to be considered.

Admission Requirements for FUNAAB Part-Time Degree Program

Applicants must have a minimum of five (5) “O” level credit passes in the following subjects to be considered for admission.

However, the English language is one of the most widely spoken languages in Mathematics. 

Also, other subjects include Chemistry, Physics, and Biology in one or two SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB sittings. you must write and pass the jamb subject combination given to you.

In addition, Water Resources Management and Agrometeorology applicants should note that a credit in Geography is necessary. Candidates with a UTME score of 180 in Agricultural Science and 200 in Sciences may also apply.
