The Nigerian Maritime University offers 13 courses for now and the courses include:

The Faculty of Transport

This faculty has four departments that include

1. Nautical Science

2. Transport Logistics Management

3. Marine Economics and Finance

4. Port Management

However, there should be Five credits in English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and one additional social science course at SSCE (or its equivalent).

The Faculty of Engineering

The faculty of Engineering has five departments which include:

2. Civil Engineering

3. Electrical Engineering

4. Mechanical Engineering

However, there should be Five SSCE (or equivalent) credits in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology

The Faculty of Environmental Management

Environmental Management has four departments which include:

1. Environmental Management and Pollution

2. Meteorology and Climate Change

3. Fisheries and Aquaculture

4. Marine Geology

Environmental Management and Pollution Control AND Meteorology and Climate Change requirements are: 

Five credits in English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and two other social science topics (or one social science subject and any other subject) at SSCE (or its equivalent).

Also, English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and any other social science topic are JAMB subjects.

While Fisheries and Aquaculture, B.Sc Marine Geology are requirements are: 

Five credits in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, and Physics/Economics/Geography at SSCE (or equivalent).

Also, you are to cover English Language, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, and Mathematics/Physics in your JAMB

Requirements to Gain Admission into Nigeria Maritime University

Candidates must achieve the following prerequisites to be admitted to the Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko in 2022:

1. Candidates must be at least 16 years old.

2. Also, candidates must have a minimum of six (six) “Cs (Credits)” in their O’level results (s). In addition, this must include English Language, Mathematics, and three other topics relevant to their programme. Also, a candidate who wishes to study law, for example, must have a “C” in English Language, Mathematics, Government/History, Economics, and English Literature.

3. In addition, candidates must have a minimum score of 160 on the JAMB UTME exam.

4. Candidates must take the NMU post-UTME screening examination and pass it with flying colours (Depending on the course of study)

5. For admission to the Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko, just ONE sitting result is allowed (NMU)

6. Candidates must select the appropriate subject mix for their courses.

7. Finally, in order to be admitted to the institution, candidates must meet the required cutoff marks for their courses.

NMU Direct Entry Admissions Requirements

Candidates who seek to enrol at the Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko (NMU) through direct entry must meet the following requirements:

1. Candidates must have a minimum of five (5) credits in their O’level results to be considered. Also, this must contain English as a second language as well as math.  the university do not accept two sitting results.

2. Also, candidates must also be at least 16 years old. 

3. To apply, candidates must obtain a JAMB Directly entrance form from JAMB.
