About the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB)
The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) is a Nigerian tertiary admissions and matriculations board. Also, the board administers the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, which is required of all prospective undergraduates applying to Nigerian universities.
Applicants at Nigerian public and private mono-technics, polytechnics, and colleges of education are also required to take equivalent exams.
In addition, the board is also in charge of administering equivalent exams to applicants to Nigeria’s public and private mono-technics, polytechnics, and colleges of education.
However, applicants must have earned the West African School Certificate, currently known as the West African Examinations Council, WAEC, or the National Examination Council (Nigeria), NECO, or it’s equivalent.
Interestingly, Mr Michael Saidu Angulu was the organization’s first Registrar, serving from 1978 to 1986. Professor Ishaq Oloyede, the current registrar of Jamb, was nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari in August 2016.

How to Create and Log in to JAMB e-facility Portal
1. Go to https://www.jamb.gov.ng/Efacility to access the e-facility portal.

4. Go to your email account, open the message you received, and click the confirmation link.
5. To create your account, fill in the required information as directed.

How to Check Admission Status on JAMB e-facility Portal
If you don’t already have a JAMB e-facility Portal account (particularly for applicants born after 2016), you’ll need to register one in order to check your admission status. If you already have a JAMB profile, you can check your admission status on the JAMB Admission List webpage by following the five (5) simple procedures mentioned below:
1: Visit the JAMB E-facility site at portal.jamb.gov.ng/efacility.
2: Enter your login and password to access your Jamb profile.
3: After logging in successfully, scroll down to the ‘Check Admission Status’ option and select it.
4: Choose your Exam year and fill in the required fields with your registration number.
5: Finally, to check your JAMB admission status, click the ‘Check Admission Status’ option.
How to Check JAMB Result
1. Visit https://portal.jamb.gov.ng/eFacility / to check your JAMB exam results.
2. In the necessary column, type your JAMB Registration Number/Email Address.
3. Select ‘Check My Results’ from the drop-down menu.
4. If your result is ready, the portal will load it.
Check Result Via SMS Short Code
Candidates should text RESULT to 55019 using the phone number they used to create a profile, and their results will be forwarded to them, according to the authorities.
1. If a candidate enters a phone number that was not used to register, he will receive a notification saying, “This phone number was not used for registration.”
2. A candidate who has received a result will also receive the following message: “Dear Mr./Miss X, your result is as follows and it will deliver the information.
3. If JAMB withheld the result, the candidate will receive a “Result Withheld” notification.
4. If a candidate falls into the category of being given the benefit of the doubt, the candidate will receive the following message: “Result delayed pending upload of clarifications/documents necessary for you.”
5. In addition, if a candidate is absent, he or she will receive the feedback “CANDIDATE ABSENT.”
6. In addition, it will notify a candidate who was absent without a registration number.
